Hair Trama

“Hey mom, I’m going to get my hair dyed today”. My mother Fe’Lisa Pate’ didn’t want me to dye my hair, she suggested that I waited until the weekend and she would do it herself. Unfortunately I’m very inpatient and couldn’t wait so I went ahead called and made a appointment for 2:00PM at Fantastic Sam’s on 89th and State Ave in Kansas city, Ks. In the mean time I printed off some pictures in color, of singer Faith Evens because that’s the color I wanted my hair to be. Faith Evens hair is like between a rusted copper red and blonde color.
Walking into Fantastic Sam’s I was greeted by a lady with long chocolate brown hair and she wears jeans, a plain t-shirt and her black cape so that when she dose hair that she doesn’t get dirty. “Hello, do you have an appointment with us today”? She asked. “Yes I called earlier about getting my hair colored, my appointment is as 2:00PM with Sarah”. “Okay, she’s waiting for you. Just head to the second the last station on your left”. As I began walking towards the back of the room I noticed that her station had four oversized books with color samples inside.
“Hello you must be Shakera, My name is Sarah and I will be doing your hair today”. “Nice to meet you” I replied. I have brought some photos of the hair color that would like to have. I show her the pictures and she informed me that she has done that color on someone before. So Sarah goes to the back of the store beginning to mix up the chemical in a light blue bowl. She walks back up to my chair and says in very clam tone “I will have to bleach your hair first so that color will take sense your hair is kind of dark”. I agreed but was scared because I thought my hair fall out from using such as strong chemical on my hair. Sarah began to apply the bleach to my hair and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then took me to the shampoo bowl and washed it out. “Now I’m going to apply the mixture that I personally combined for your color, ” says Sarah. After applying the mixture to my head she informed me that I would have to sit on there for about 30 minutes. Sarah turned my hair so that I could look around the room and not face the mirror about her station. As I waited I looked in some hair magazines and observed the atmosphere. Sarah had started to cut another customers hair as she waited for my hair to change colors. It was fairly hot and there were about five other stylist and they all were busy with there customers.
Sarah came to check on me and told me “Okay, I’m going to wash your hair now and then blow dry it, then you can see the end results”. As she blow-dry my hair with me facing away from the mirror I noticed that people were looking at me with a shocked look on their face. Sarah finally turned the chair around and said, “ So what you think”? I immediately began to cry. I just couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. “My hair is orange,” I yelled. “Sarah this is no where near the color that I said I that I wanted”. I called my mother and asked her to come up to the store. When she walked in and saw that my hair was Halloween orange she said “ I will not be paying for this, and you need to correct this color right now”. Sarah Informed my mother that she was sorry and that she must have added orange instead of the red that I wanted. “There will be no charge and the person that we have on staff for hair correction will not be in until tomorrow”. “No that’s okay I will fix this myself when I get home and will never refer anyone to come here to get their hair done. You should not be allowed to touch anyone’s hair ever again”. I was so upset that I just walked out the store with my pink and blue hat on my head and drove home.
